• Vintage Quilt Coat Workshop ( 2- 6 hour classes)

  • Everything is provided (including quilt), however if you have your own quilt the cost will be reduced.

• Traditional or Foundation Paper Piecing Piecing (FPP) Quilted Wall Hanging Workshop

  • In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of traditional quilt piecing or foundation paper piecing and leave with a finished quilted wall hanging. Traditional quilt piecing involves combining geometric fabric shapes to create a design that will function as your top layer.

    Foundation paper piecing is a technique that uses a paper pattern as a guide to create detailed images. The quilting process then joins together three layers: the top layer, the batting (middle layer), and the backing fabric (bottom layer). The quilting of the layers allows for basic texture that serves a functional purpose or intentional quilting that adds to the imagery or texture of the piece.

    You will become familiar with the tools and materials used throughout the class, including a cutting mat, quilting ruler, rotary cutter, sewing machine, iron, etc.

    Additional topics will include understanding pattern instructions, accurately accounting for seam allowances to self draft, fabric choices, fabric lines, thread choices, setting seams, hand stitching, and needle options.
